We were given the task of taking three different shots in three different locations using the phrase "What are you doing here?".
Our first location was outside using a bench and a table, I said to Abbie "What are you doing here?" with Abbie walking into each of our shots, we also used two over the shoulder shots.
Our second location was in the library, with me hiding behind a display board and Abbie saying "What are you doing here? and me then disappearing back behind the board. Our next shot was a high angle shot of the same scenario. We then had a panning shot from Abbie to myself, and a close up shot of me hiding behind a bookshelf.
Our third location was a set of the stairs and we had the camera following abbie before she said "What are you doing here?" we also had me comning up behind her and whispering it in her ear.
We found this excercise helpful, as it helped us to think about the different camera angles we are going to use for our opening.

Editing Software - iMovie
We've decided to edit our opening two minutes with iMovie as we all have experience with using the software. Our preliminary task was created using iMovie, and it worked succesfully with the footage we had. It can easily insert captions and opening credits as well, and we can apply music and effects very easily.
Camera

The camera we are going to use for filming is the Nikon D3100, the main reason is because the camera has a HD setting, which means our opening two minutes will look clearer, and will make for a more efficient film. With 14 Megapixel and 1080p HD we hope the camera will produce the same amount of good quality images that we used in our preliminary task.
The camera is easy to use, so everyone involved will be able to take part in the filming process. The camera comes with a remote, which means that all four of us can appear in the opening.

Warner Bros.
Warner Bros.
Warner Bros is a film studio based in California and New York, and is a leader in the creation, production, licensing and marketing of films.
Some of the most succesful films that Warner Bros have distributed include: The Harry Potter Series, Sex and the City, The Hangover and Slumdog Millionaire. They produce a wide range of films, all with a variety of genres, such as Comedy, Fantasy and Horror.
Warner Bros has produced many high profile horror films, and when I compared them with 20th Centruy Fox, I thought that Warner Bros would be a better film institution to go with, as it has a better history of horror films than 20th Century Fox.
Warner Bros have also produced more films than 20th Century Fox, with a substantial amount being extremely succesful horror films.

20th Century Fox.
20th Century Fox
20th Century Fox is a major film corporation based in America, It was founded in 1935 and has become one of the most renowned film corporations in the world. It is a subsidiary of News Corporation, which is owned by Ruper Murdoch.
Some of the most successful franchises created by 20th Century Fox are: Avatar, X-Men, Fantastic Four, Star Wars and The Chronicles of Narnia.
The majority of the films that 20th Century Fox create are Comedy of Family Friendly. Including: Doctor Do-Little, Alvin and the Chipmunks, Night at the Museum and Diary of a Wimpy Kid.
I think that 20th Century Fox would be a suitable studio to produce my film, as they have a long history of producing horror films, and although they are traditionally known for producing comedy/family friendly films, they have made several successful horror films.
20th Century Fox tend to distribute horror films rather than make them, which is why i think they will be a good corporation to distribute our horror.

Opening Two Minutes: Scream 3 - Audience Profile
The comparable profile above shows that over half of the audience for Scream 3 was male, and that the audience was spread evenly out across all classes. The age group that went to see the film the most were young people from the ages of 15-24 who had almost 50% of the overall film audience.
In the film, the main character is a young attractive woman, which might encourage men to go and watch the film. The characters in the film are at a similar age to the 15-24 age group, which might make that age group want to see the film. Also having well known actresses like Courtney Cox and Neve Campbell could also make young girls who are the fans of the actresses want to go and see the film.
